News of Friends

One of the things I missed the most whilst flattened and floored was news of friends but sitting at the computer was simply beyond my abilities.

One blog I missed greatly was that of Sharon B -- now Pin Tangle rather than In A Minute Ago. Sometimes I think Sharon delights in making this poor old brain of mine learn new turns and directions. I just get comfy with her blog and she shakes it all up like a tin of vintage buttons and tips out a brand new arrangement to delight and confuse me. So a link to Pin Tangle is now a part of my blog and in the next few days I'll take a look at other old favorites and make sure they're correctly tagged for your edification.

Pin Tangle is also one of my favorites- in fact I just featured it yesterday on my blog!

Thanks for the link I appreciate it and it helps to spread the news a little
.... and I am pleased to be able to shake that tin

Another Designer Blogs

I've found another needlework designer blog. Give a little read to Melinda Medeiros' Once Upon a Thread which follows her path through the world of needlework design.

You might want a look at her main website as well at Medeiros Needlecraft.

I've missed seeing her designs the last few years at Nashville as I've been rather confined to my own rooms so it is nice to catch up a bit with Melinda's latest offerings.

A Thought and a Link

The "thought" --- Yes we do think around here (once in a while). Along with Sharon B. I don't get tangled up in stats for my blog, but I do take a little look at the general picture. I know when I've been dull as ditchwater and when I've hit a stitchers nerve of interest. Looking at the keywords that bring folks to my blog can be interesting and sometimes cause much head scratching. One thing is a certainty though. If Sharon B. gives you a mention, your stats soar. It's like getting the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. Her blog In A Minute Ago is undoubtedly the most read, saved, printed, searched in the universe. So thanks for yesterday's stats Sharon.

Now for the "link" --- All Fiber Arts concentrates mostly on weaving, spinning and knitting, but there is a good deal of stitchery info as well. It's one of those BHS (Black Hole Sites). It can suck you in and you simply disappear for hours. Tons of links, Clipart, Articles, layer on layer of mighty good stuff.

Peek-A-Boo, I See You

One of the interesting things about the stats program I use to track a few things about my blog is the ability to see what site prompted a visitor to read my blog. It is always interesting to see who has linked to the blog and quite often I find pleasant surprises.

Who could resist a follow up when I saw a visitor had come from a site named Stitching With A Shimmy

It was not until I clicked through to the blog that I realized it was my old friend Romilly who had entered the blogging world. Romilly and I first met in Southern California many a moon ago and I was privileged to sell some of her designs for awhile. Then she moved East and now I've moved East and now we're both blogging and I don't want to lose track of her again.

Romilly can stitch the most exquisite modern Dresden Work I have seen. I hope her recent mishap to an arm doesn't slow her stitching down (or her belly dancing).

She says she hasn't a sense of humor. I never noticed any lack in that department but read her blog and you be the judge.

A New Blogger

I'm encouraged to see my dear friend MarthaJeanne blogging from Vienna!!! We met years ago on Compuserve Fibercrafts Forum. We've met in England from time to time and I've journeyed to Geneva to visit MJ and her family.

Hopefully we'll meet again in Vienna. That trip is on my "after the back is fixed list".
